The Director speaks…..
Welcome to St. Michael’s School website. Today, the role of a school is not only to pursue academic excellence but also to motivate and empower its students to be lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and productive members of an ever-changing global society. This is exactly what we at St. Michael’s are trying to do. We are striving to provide our students with an atmosphere for multifaceted development where every child is encouraged to channelize his/ her potential in the pursuit of excellence. In our curriculum, the primary focus is on the student and every child is involved actively in the learning process.
Our student centered school fosters active lifelong learning and promotes healthy student development academically, socially, emotionally and physically in short – an all encompassing education. While academic excellence is a major thrust, the school is very keen on preparing our students for life. We groom them to face the challenges of tomorrow, and encourage them to be socially conscious. We consciously endeavour to live up to this ideology and inculcate this into everything we do. We provide our students with a rich language environment that supports the development of critical and divergent thinkers able to work collaboratively with others.
One of the many things that makes St. Michael’s School such a positive place to be is that we have a strong belief that we are all learners together. The children, teachers and parents are all part of our “Learning Community’ and we strive to work and learn together. Our teachers provide an atmosphere for discovery where students are encouraged to be creative and curious. For this we are constantly improving our teaching methodology so that it turns learning into a combination of classroom learning, researching and a spirit for scientific discovery. “Education is not preparation for life; Education is life itself. If this sounds like the kind of environment that would suit you I urge you to read more, please feel free to come and visit us, confer with any of our learning community, and I am confident you will join with us in our journey.
Much has been done these past sixteen years but still more needs to be done in the years to come. In the words of Robert Frost, “But I have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep …………… and miles to go before I sleep. May God be my inspiration and guide to help St. Michael’s achieve and live up to the dreams it was started for.
